Nestled in the rolling hills of Monferrato (a UNESCO World Heritage site), our historic former winery from 1850 combines nature, stillness, contemporary art, and well-being into a unique, exclusive retreat space in Monferrato. Sunrise yoga, silence in the hills, birdsong in your ears, and delicious vegetarian cuisine. After your practice, the panoramic saltwater pool awaits you. Best of all: the entire estate belongs exclusively to your group during the retreat. No outside guests, no distractions—just space to breathe and connect.

A Hidden Gem in the Heart of Monferrato
Montessino is situated on a hilltop, surrounded by vineyards, olive trees, and meadows. The view sweeps across the Monferrato hills all the way to the Alps. Our haven is surprisingly easy to reach—located just a one-hour drive from both Milan Malpensa and Turin Caselle airports, as well as the Swiss border. Yet, upon arrival, Montessino feels as though it belongs to a completely different world. It is precisely this sense of escape from everyday life that makes Montessino the ideal setting for your yoga retreat. Monferrato is an undiscovered gem—unspoiled and authentic. Here, you will feel grounded and deeply connected with nature.
Our Yoga Shalas and Wellness Oasis
The former riding stable has been transformed into a light-filled yoga shala featuring wooden floors, air conditioning, heating, and large panoramic windows overlooking the greenery. At 45 m², the space comfortably accommodates up to 14 mats. During the warmer months, our atmospheric historic hay barn is also available, offering roughly 80 m² of space. Open on one side with a traditional, artfully perforated brick wall—originally used to ventilate hay—it provides a historic ambiance with authentic charm for your practice. Since it cannot be heated, this space is best enjoyed in warmer temperatures.
Alongside the yoga shala, the former riding stable houses an oasis for body and mind: here you will find our massage studio for deep relaxation, a soothing sauna, and a well-equipped gym for your personal workout—all featuring large windows to maintain a constant connection with nature. Complete your relaxing getaway in the expansive garden with its panoramic saltwater pool, warm outdoor hot tub, or dreamy reading nooks.
Our Zen Island
Imagine a place where time slows down, suspended in the heart of the Monferrato hills. Surrounded by a sea of rolling fields and ancient grapevines, the Zen island is dedicated to energy, reflection, and the art of being. Here, nature provides the ultimate backdrop for your teachings. Whether you are leading a vibrant morning flow or a quiet evening reflection, the sky becomes your canvas with spectacular sunrises and sunsets.
For those looking to deepen their workshop experience, we offer two dedicated fire bowls. These are available for your private fire ceremonies, providing a powerful focal point for release, intention-setting, or simply gathering under the starlit Italian sky.
The Country House & Group Size
Experience the warmth of a traditional Italian estate, blending shabby chic with the modern comforts your guests deserve. Our 6 elegant double rooms are decorated with great attention to detail. Each room features an en-suite bathroom, air conditioning, heating, fly screens, a kettle with organic herbal teas, free Wi-Fi, a TV, and, in select rooms, a panoramic balcony. Seasonally available for larger groups, our dependance offers an additional 2 double rooms. The maximum capacity of the estate is 18 guests, ensuring a warm, intimate, and personal atmosphere at all times. Minimum group size: 8 participants (10 on public holidays).
Your Retreat Culinary Journey (Brunch & Dinner)
At Country House Montessino, we believe that what we eat is just as important as how we move. Our culinary experience is designed to ground you, nourish you, and celebrate the rich flavors of Piedmont. Start gently your morning with hot Ginger-Lemon-Tea, coffee, and biscuits before you hit the mat.
The Gourmet Brunch
After your morning practice, enjoy a genuine, vegetarian buffet on our sunny terrace (or in our cozy breakfast room if the clouds roll in).
Dining
For dinner, our guest chef Paola prepares authentic soul food by Bubot for you. She runs the Bubot agricultural farm and crafts delicious, seasonal Italian vegetarian dishes—with most of the fruit and vegetables coming straight from her own garden. For longer stays, you can also look forward to our popular pizza night featuring homemade pizzas and fresh, crisp salads. Take a piece of Monferrato home with you: Paola's legendary products are available to purchase directly on-site. Please note that we are unfortunately unable to accommodate vegan diets.

Our well-equipped gym is available to you free of charge throughout the day. Take advantage of our stunning location and go for a run right from our doorstep, or rent one of our e-MTBs! Our guided tours also promise unforgettable experiences (reservation required).

This beautiful newly renovated hotel hosted my group of 12 yoga participants for a week. The rooms are very modern and tastefully decorated in a country style. We enjoyed our breakfasts and dinner on the terrace outside with spectacular sunsets. The salt water pool was enjoyed by us all - as well as the jacuzzi - both have a view to the generous open countryside. Our hosts Claudia and Alessandro were so warm and welcoming and spoiled us with the most amazing brunches and dinners.

Située sur une colline du MONFERRATO , cette ancienne ferme viticole propose un décors féérique . Calm, volupté et bon goût jusque dans les details. L'endroit plaira aux romantiques et aux amoureux des endroits calmes et reposants . Belle piscine , beaucoup de bons conseils de la part de Claudia qui est aux petit soins tout en gardant on oeil attentif à la bonne application du réglementinterne.
