Location Our unique location is only 1-hour drive from the airports of Milan and Turin. We are in the Monferrato, which is part of Piedmont's region in northern Italy, one of the most famous Italian wine regions in the world but yet unknown to tourism! Country House Montessino is located in a small hamlet on top of one of the rolling hills of the Monferrato, since 2014 Unesco World Heritage Site. We are immersed in nature and surrounded by olive groves, wine yards and wheat fields with a wonderful view. Silence and tranquility for meditation are guaranteed. The Monferrato is still a piece of authentic Italy, without mass tourism and with very few individual tourists. An area waiting to be discovered. Here you feel grounded and connected to nature. (and by the way, the background photo is original!) Yoga Room & Zen Island The former riding stable houses a beautiful, heated yoga room with panoramic windows and wooden floors. The room is 45 m2 and has maximum space for 14 yoga mats. 10 yoga mats, 12 blocks, yoga straps and blankets are available. In the middle of the hill surrounded by fields and grapevines lies our Zen island. A place of energy to meditate and reflect with spectacular sunrises and sunsets. Ideal for your morning meditation when the sun is rising or evening meditation when the sun is setting. Also 2 fire bowls are available for your fire ceremony. The Country House, group size Country House Montessino has 6 individually designed double rooms. In 5 of them, the king-size beds can be configured twin bedded , whereas this is not possible for one room (Dolcetto). Therefore, the room Dolcetto is mainly booked as a double room for single use. Please note that we do not have any single rooms . All rooms have en-suite bathrooms with walk-in shower, aircon, heating and kettle with organic teas. Some rooms with balconies and marvelous views on the rolling hills of Monferrato. Our house surrounds 3 hectares of land with olive groves, meadows, and grapevines. An outdoor saltwater pool and a whirlpool await you in the garden. In addition to the yoga room, the former riding stable has a massage room, a well-equipped fitness room, and a sauna. All with large windows so as not to interrupt contact with nature. For longer retreats of 4-7 nights or in low season also our holiday home "La Casetta" with 2 bedrooms is available, which is opposite the main house. Maximum group size is 12-14 people. Minimum number of participants 8 people, d uring public holidays (Easter, Ascension, Pentecost etc.) 10 people. Meals (Brunch & Dinner) Before your yoga class in the morning you can help yourself with biscuits, tea, coffee and water. After your workout you will have a delicious brunch on our sunny terrace. If it`s rainy, in the breakfast room. We will spoil you with a daily changing, balanced and genuine vegetarian brunch with oriental, Italian and European specialties. Whereas our cook Paola, of her farm BUBOT, ensures culinary delights in the evening with tasty Italian, vegetarian dishes. By the way there is the possibility to buy her amazing (also vegan) products with us! The pizza evening with various salads is also very popular. On request, we can combine the external dinners on 1 or 2 evenings with a visit to an Infernot (UNESCO World Heritage Site) or a wine tasting. The external dinners are at your own expense and are not included in the package price. For the journey to the restaurant (3-6 km) we form a carpool. Fresh fruits, mineral water, tea, and coffee are available to you in self-service throughout the day. If anyone still feels hungry during the day, we will be happy to prepare salads or other treats for you. Would you like to bring your chef? No problem, we will be happy to inform you about the conditions for this. Relaxation and Massages We offer various massages of 1 hour each. The whirlpool or, during cooler temperatures, the sauna provides further relaxation. Sports You can start jogging or hiking over the wineyards straight away from Country House Montessino or rent an E-MTB. Guided bike tours are also very popular. How to get to us C ountry House Montessino is dreamily nestled in a rural setting on a hill in Monferrato with a wonderful view and is not accessible by public transport. We therefore recommend to arrive by car in order to be indipendent and to enable you to go to the next market or explore the surrounding towns/villages. If you still want to travel by train, most connections to/from Milano Centrale are from/to Vercelli. From there it's about 45 minutes by taxi.
